Tom,
Once more, you are demonstrating how little you know my friend. First, I am not offended by anything you may say about the scriptures, God or my faith. If you choose to be offended by what I say, that is your choice. I do not intend to offend you but to simply stand for the truth which defends itself. It needs no defense from me. I sent you no link to Trinity Church either. Please take the time to actually read what I send before making wild accusations. Trinity Inc Evangelistic Association is the name of an organization unrelated to any church. If you took the time to read what was there you would have known that. It is clearly stated. If you consider The History Channel to be a reputable source of information that is factual and truthful, you are again most deceived. To the contrary, it is notoriously unreliable and biased and self serving. It attempts to locate the most liberal, so called scholars available to prop up its rediculous speculations on anything related to the Bible. If you will take the time to examine who is behind the programs you hold in such high esteem, you will find it laughable. I have seen the programs you describe and find very little resembling the truth displayed in them. It is apparant the your education did little for you but poison you mind. Education is supposed to teach you how to learn but apparently you must have been too busy listening to people who have already closed their minds to any real truth. I find that very sad. The idiotic, so called 40 year gap theory you espouse is a good case in point. It makes all kinds of wild assumptions with absolutely nothing but speculation to support its conclusions. What always amazes me about people like you who spout this nonsense is that you never pay any attention to the truth. You only listen to and parrot a deluded and jaded crowd who are so paranoid that the only thing they ever expose themselves to is their own delusional rantings. No true science has ever disproved one word of scripture nor has its true proponents seen any teason to attempt doing so. True christians will always welcome any scrutiny from true science and will never feel threatened by it. What people like you do not understand is that the Bible deals with the soul of man first and foremost. When it deals with the physical side of life, it presents it exactly as it is, warts and all. It makes no apology for its content nor aim. It presents man as he is, totally depraved, and shows him how to rise out of that condition to become what he has the potential to be. Everything about that is good and has maintained what can be seen in the world today that could be called good. Everything else, including the deluded folks you seem to admire so much, are interested in nothing but self agrandizement and power. Look around you man and see what the source of what is good and wholesome in humanity is. It is God at work calling mankind to love and care for itself. The rubbish you espouse has never produced anything good and worthwhile and never will. I am not so naive as not to realize that the church has been infiltrated by unregenerate people who have brought discredit and shame to it in many places but among those who are truly related to God through Christ have never been a part of such. It is the counterfiet church that you seem to know about. I urge you to look for the real thing. It is not that hard to find for any who are truly interested. As is the case with all counterfiets, they only deal in what is really and truly valuable but can easily be recognized for what they are when compared to the real thing. I hope you will make the effort to find and examine the real thing. Your education, when directed properly, should avail you of the ability to actually know the difference. If it does not, then you again have had a counterfiet pawned off on you my friend. Since you have shared your hopes for the demise of the church, let me share my hopes that the day will come when deluded folks like you will see the light of truth and be blessed by it. I assure you that you will not want to live in a world where the true church does not exist. I wish for you the best.

Cliff,
The History Channel--a fairly reputable source, wouldn't you agree--ran a multi-part series called "Who Wrote The Bible". Everything I echoed back to you (perhaps I remembered it incorrectly) came from that program. It very clearly described the problems with the authorship of the Bible. Please go to YouTube and search on "Who Wrote the Bible" and see the 10-parts for yourself. (Also, there is another show of the same name by an individual that is not as clear--so watch the History Channel one). It will give you detailed information on the 40-year gap and the lack of first-hand knowledge by the authors of the Bible. What I find most offensive is your decision to send me a link to Trinity Church. How arrogant of you that was. If you think that a college educated person such as myself could be swayed by attending a moronic church service, you're quite deluded. Go ahead and be offended, Cliff. Your religion is a myth. Your God is a myth as is your Jesus. If he existed at all (and he may be a composite), he was just a human being and nothing more. I am gratified to see that Atheism has been rated as the fastest-growing religious preference. As science permeates our world, your near-pagan religion will face into obscurity. I welcome that day.

Cliff,
I just followed that link that you provided. I had thought that it was writing related. Now I see that it's just another Christian shoving his religion in my face. What arrogance! Do you think I'm so malleable that I can fall for some myths that come from 2,000 years ago? Let's see. Where to begin. How do you account for the "Apostle" Paul not mentioning any of the miracles, the virgin birth, the ressurection? His letters were the earliest documented source of your Christ myth. How you do you account for the 40-year gap? It is well known that the "Gospel" according to Mark was the first written, as Luke and John quote from Mark. It is further noted that Mark--the earliest author--mentions the destruction of the Jewish Temple, which is known to have occurred 40 years after the death of Jesus. So, do you remember in detail what happened 40 years earlier? At a time when life expectancy was about 40 years? So, are you saying that Mark was a child at the time when he witnessed the things he wrote about? I seriously doubt it. Modern people--who watch crime shows like CSI--know the intensive pains that must be taken to prove a fact. Yet, with no evidence, no possible way for an eye witness to have observed the events he (Mark) wrote about, you shove this myth in my face. How arrogant. How foolish. It's a myth Cliff. You can wish that it were true, you can trumpet your platitude "It all comes down to faith". Yes, as does the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny too. I suggest you go to YouTube and find the History channel show called "Who Wrote the Bible". Your only possible eye witness--Paul--does not mention any of the miracles. No ressurection, nothing. Cliff, much as you may have invested your life into the belief that this stuff is true--does not mean a damn thing. Much as you want it to be true, does not add up to a hill of beans. As you can see, I find it deeply offensive that you think you could have ANY effect on me or other free-thinking people just by sending me a link to a downtown Manhattan church--Trinity--that is a favorite of all the rich-and-famous folk of Manhattan. Your church is a social meeting place, Cliff. It's all BS.

Cliff,
Yes, I have been writing for a long time. I have gotten a lot of articles published but none of the 6 novels I've written has made it that far. I will check out your link and see if it's anything I can use. Glad to hear you're writing too. It's a good life even without publication. Take care, Tom

Oh, now I know what you mean! No, I don't belong to a guild. Guess I am just a loner. I met some ladies in a guild not too far from this area, but tell you the truth I didn't care for them much. Figured if I had to act like that to sell my books, I would rather not.
Have a nice day Clifford :)
